Italian sausage burger
Ingredients:
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 pound Italian turkey sausage links, casings removed
3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
8 kaiser rolls, split
1 cup spaghetti sauce, warmed
Preparation method:
1. Stir egg, bread crumbs, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, thyme, beef, and sausage together in a mixing bowl. Form into 8 patties.
2. Preheat grill to medium and lightly oil grate.
3. Grill burgers for about 14 minutes, until cooked thoroughly. Top burgers with cheese and continue to grill with the lid closed until cheese melts. Meanwhile, toast the kaiser rolls.
4. Serve burgers in toasted kaiser rolls with a little spaghetti sauce on each burger.
