Chocolate Crinkles and "The Girls"

"The Girls" as Mr. Picky Pants calls my co-workers, came over last weekend and made cookies with me and my mom. We also had the help of two cute taste testers (Devin and MaKaiyla).
I am sharing the recipe for the first cookies we made, chocolate crinkles. None of us had ever made them before, but I think they turned out great. You need to plan ahead when making these cookies as they need to be refrigerated for four or more hours. I refrigerated them overnight. They are rolled in powdered sugar before baking which surprised me, I thought the powdered sugar would melt off and not be visible after they came out of the oven, but they came out perfect. The powdered sugar is the star of these cookies I think!
Barb and Stef "helping". Making cookies sure does make you thirsty!!!!!
Here are the two taste testers, aren't they adorable!
( Devin and MaKaiyla I am still missing a Christmas bell)
All in all it was a fun, chaotic and fun cookie making day!

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together cocoa, white sugar, and vegetable oil. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the cocoa mixture. Cover dough, and chill for at least 4 hours.
  2. Preheat oven to 350. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Roll dough into one inch balls. Coat each ball in confectioners' sugar before placing onto prepared cookie sheets.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Let stand on the cookie sheet for a minute before transferring to wire racks to cool.
