A lot of people make a new years resolution to lose weight.
We do it every year.
I'm no different.
I have been doing really well for the last year in the weight loss area.
It's been a long, hard battle, but worth it.
I have 15 pounds to go to reach my next goal.
I have been replacing ground beef with ground chicken and turkey.
I have even been using the whole wheat spaghetti noodles.
I love angel hair noodles.
SSSHHHH, don't tell Tony about the noodles, it was hard enough to get him to try the chicken and turkey.
I had a package of Honeysuckle Italian style ground turkey in the refrigerator to use up.

Since it was Italian style I decided to make meatballs.
Spaghetti and meatballs.
It was really, really good.
The meatballs have a little kick to them, which makes them even better then regular meatballs.
They taste almost like an Italian sausage.
They would be awesome in a meatball sub.
Did I mention that I also made garlic bread.
OOOOOHHHH, the garlic bread, don't get me started.
It was made with French bread, butter, minced fresh garlic and Italian seasonings.
Delicious.
I am a bread lover, along with the rest of my beloved family.
But all things in moderation, I only made enough for everyone to have one slice !!
That way I can't eat theres also LOL

As for the meatballs, I didn't really use a recipe, I just kind of winged it. Here is what I did:
1 lb. ground Italian turkey
1 egg
1/4 cup Italian style bread crumbs
That's it ! Since the ground turkey was already seasoned there wasn't much else to do !!
I shaped the turkey mixture into walnut sized balls and cooked in a little olive oil until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes. Turkey is lean, so there wasn't any grease in the pan, I added spaghetti sauce and put a lid on the pan. Simmer for about 15 minutes until meatballs are cooked through.
Serve with a side salad to be even healthier
ENJOY !!
ENJOY !!
