Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

I love ranch dressing, but I hate bottled ranch dressing.  There is just something that doesn't taste right to me in the bottled stuff.  Not even Hidden Valley Ranch dressing in the bottle taste good.  I love fresh ranch dressing, so I decided to make some myself with my handy new food processor.  You could make it in the blender also, but I have a new toy I need to break in !!!!!  This recipe is very easy  and very good.  I will never buy bottled dressing again.  I also love the way you can adjust the seasoning to your taste.

Ingredients:

1 cup mayonnaise (I used light)
1 cup sour cream (I used light)
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. lemon juice
-1 cup buttermilk (I used the full cup)
1 small bunch chives
Small handful parsley
1 clove garlic, chopped
 tsp. kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Dash of tabasco sauce (optional, but I like the little kick)

Directions:

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor starting with cup of the buttermilk and blend for 15 seconds. Check the consistency and taste and blend in additional buttermilk as desired. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy !!
